Mission Statement
The Social Action Committee identifies, supports, and publicizes projects and activities that will allow congregants to participate in Tikkun Olam with a sense of connection to Jewish tradition and teachings. These projects will focus on safeguarding against threats to life, the earth, freedom, human rights, human dignity, peace, and justice.
The Bonai Shalom Sudanese Scholarship Fund (The Fund) was established in 2008. This Fund is an investment on the part of the Congregation Bonai Shalom community in the future of three young Sudanese refugee women our congregation helped resettle to Boulder.
For more information, or if you would like to contribute to the Fund, please contact us at socialaction@bonaishalom.org.
Community Table
On the second Monday of every month, Bonai Shalom provides volunteers to help feed low-income and often homeless individuals at Community Table.
There are two shifts, 3:45 to 5:15, and 5:00 to 6:30 PM.
Please contact socialaction@bonaishalom.org to volunteer--or just show up!
Mentors Needed for Offender Transition Program
Bonai Shalom is working with Restoring the Soul, an interfaith organization that partners with local Boulder County agencies to train and provide volunteers for many community service projects. Specifically we are seeking people who are interested in helping offenders transition out of the Boulder County Jail and into a law-abiding constructive life. Please contact Joan Nagel at socialaction@bonaishalom.org if you are interested in helping with this program.
