SHABBAT SHIRA NIGGUN AND ZMIRA SONGFEST

What better way to celebrate Shabbat Shira, the Shabbat of Song, than with a niggun/zmira songfest. Join us after Kiddush on Shabbat BeShalach, which includes the Song at the Sea, and the chanting of the haftorah which includes Shirat Devorah, the Prophetess Devorah’s song. The Baal Shem Tov taught that music is a powerful form of spiritual expression and can be a path to God that transcends the limitations of the spoken word. Rabbi Eva will guide us in some old and new niggunim, wordless melodies, from the repertoires of the Hassidic masters to the contemporary voices of Joey Weisenberg that will elevate our communal Shabbat experience through sharing our voices. We will sprinkle our afternoon with melodies to elevate us into the final hours of Shabbat.
