5:00 PM - 7:00 PMNew Moon Ceremony: Tending to Grief & Sorrow (Tammuz & Summer Solstice)
Wednesday, June 25th | 5:00–7.00pm [ Optional Potluck beginning at 8pm]
Facilitated by Jenna Zadaka & Mitten Lowe
Join us for a ceremonial evening of emotional tending and communal care during the month of Tammuz — a time in the Hebrew calendar known for inviting us into the heart of sorrow. Together, we will create a compassionate space to witness grief, soften into presence, and reconnect to the deeper currents of healing.
Tammuz and Av are often called the “two weeping eyes” of sacred time. Tammuz, in particular, invites us to sit with sadness and the truth of destruction — personal, collective, ancestral.
In this season of the summer solstice, the chush (spiritual sense) to rectify is our sight: the capacity to truly see suffering, within and around us, and to expand our awareness to hold more. One of the names for G-d in Torah is Be’er L’Chai Roi — the Living Well of the One Who Sees Me. In our circle, we will practice both seeing and being seen, gently exploring the emotions we often turn away from.
What to Expect:
- Grounding into sacred time and exploring sorrow through a spiritual and embodied lens
- An Herbal Eye Bath & Guided Meditation
- Partner-Work
- Song / Hebrew Chanting to move any emotions through the body and into expression
