Tu B’shevat Seder: Rooted in Soil
Wednesday, January 24, 2024 • 14 Shevat 5784
6:00 PM - 8:30 PMBoulder JCCTu B'Shevat is one of the four "New Years" in the Jewish Calendar. Literally the 15th of the Hebrew month Shevat, it celebrates the New Year of the Trees. We mark this holiday with a seder, literally "order," a festive experience where we celebrate tree fruits and share together in enjoying their offerings. For this year’s seder, we invite the community to explore the central role soil plays in our environment and climate. Lauren Gifford, Associate Director of the Soil Carbon Solutions Center at Colorado State University, will share her work harnessing the power of soils to restore our climate and support a thriving people and planet. We will root our learnings in Jewish tradition through ritual, text exploration, and service.
Our seder will be in person and include tree fruits, wine and grape juices, and a catered meal. This event is geared toward adults and everyone 12 and older can attend.
