Grief Group

Monday, November 10, 2025 19 Cheshvan 5786

5:30 PM - 6:30 PMBoulder JCC

This group offers a welcoming and safe place for community members to share their grief, be witnessed by each other, and create connections with one another. Facilitated by Hannah Salander, MA, LPC, ATR

Hannah is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Art Therapist, and Spiritual Director. She has a private practice in Lafayette, and many years of experience focusing on healing through grief and loss. She taught in both transpersonal art, and wilderness therapy graduate counseling programs at Naropa University, and served for several years as a hospice chaplain and graduate student supervisor. She is currently teaching faculty for Aleph: Alliance for Jewish Renewal’s Hashpa’ah (Jewish Spiritual Direction) training program.

The group will start with a brief centering practice and poem or thought to create a calm and welcoming space. Participants are then invited to share openly, lighting a battery-operated tea light in honor of a grief they carry, a recent loss, or a loved one’s name. Silence is equally welcome as a way to honor one’s experience. Each candle will be placed at the center of the circle as a symbol of remembrance. We’ll end with an acknowledgment of healing, and gratitude for the communal gathering.

This is an open group, attend as often as you'd like, but registration is required.
