Israeli First Friday Dinner & Discussion

            Friday, May 2nd 6:00p to 9:00p
Join us for Kabbalat Shabbat Services, a delicious Israeli-style Friday night dinner followed by a thought-provoking conversation between two unique voices with mirrored journeys: Rotem Bar-Or, an Israeli scientist who recently relocated his family to Boulder, and, Danny Sherwinter, an American patent attorney who spent the last five years navigating life as a new immigrant in Israel. Together, they'll explore the complex intersections of Jewish and Israeli identity, the contrasts between socialist and capitalist societies, and how educational systems - and the values they reflect - differ between the two countries.

Engaging the Spiritual Energy of our Hebrew Months with Poetry and Reflection

            Tuesday, May 6th 7:00p to 8:30p
Our Jewish calendar is a spiritual road-map for Judaism’s two core spiritual practices tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tikkun hanefesh (repairing our souls). Each month is rich in kavanot (intention, direction, and mindfulness) for our personal and collective spiritual work. After looking at the parashot (Torah portions), holidays, historical events, and mystical teachings connected to each month, participants will have the opportunity for personal reflection. We also will delve into poetry and prayers connected to the month’s kavanot. Taught by Ed Kass and Valerie Singer. Join Zoom meeting here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83608689636
