Response to Racism

Congregation Bonai Shalom stands against racism. The Torah teaches that all humanity is created in the Divine image and protecting human dignity is above all else. Tzedek, Tzedek Tirdof - justice, justice you shall pursue - demands that we pursue justice wherever we can.

Diversity in the Jewish Community? An Evening of Learning and Personal Testimony on Embracing and Elevating Diverse Voices | Tuesday, February 2 | 6:30 pm (in collaboration with the JCRC Speaker Series - Register Here

 - Through this event, we hope to give the Colorado Jewish community the opportunity to learn from national experts and members of our community from their experiences, expertise, and insight about what it means to truly embody the Jewish values of inclusivity, diversity, and racial justice. We are excited to have two people closely tied to the JCRC, Bonai Shalom executive director Stacey Aviva Flint and At-Large Member Sammie Wicks, share their personal experiences in the Jewish community, and to have Shalom Hartman Institute Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Mijal Bitton lend her expertise to our discussion. JCRC At-Large Member Jeffrey Kass will moderate the discussion.

As a community, we listen.

We use our voices to amplify those of others.

We commit to opening our hearts and minds to new ways of seeing the world and commit to taking action.

We stand in solidarity with the Black community, Jews of Color, and all communities of color, in righting generations-long wrongs. We collectively strive to stamp out racism and prejudice in all of its forms from our society.
