Praying With My Fork: A Spiritual Journey to Plant Based Eating

Chicken soup, brisket, and gefilte fish are hallmarks of traditional Jewish cuisine and so the idea of plant based eating may seem countercultural, almost anti-Jewish to many Jews . Using both traditional and modern texts, come explore how one family’s evolving understanding of their Jewish values has led them to adopt a plant based diet and has helped them bring meaning and holiness to every meal. The goal of this session is not to convince anyone to adopt a vegan diet but to encourage a discussion of how we make our food choices and how aligning those choices with our values can elevate the eating experience.
